Guest guest
Our group QOTW [question of the week] for May 14th -20th: What local store has served your vegetarian needs/diet the best? Perhaps it is a super market chain that carries a lot of health food items or a very mom & pop style market. Share the name of the store you shop in most or if you can't list just one, list the several stores you frequent in order of importance. Guest guest
i spend most of my grocery money at ukrop's (a richmond-based grocery store with lots of natural foods, organic produce, virginia produce, a good bakery that makes wonderful tiramisu, and bulk bins) and shopper's food warehouse (that has a huge produce section, good prices, an international section, a good wine and beer selection and a really cute assistant manager named randy). susie --- ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > Our group QOTW [question of the week] for May 14th > -20th: > > What local store has served your vegetarian > needs/diet the best? > Perhaps it is a super market chain that carries a > lot of > health food items or a very mom & pop style market. > Share the name of the store you shop in most or if > you can't list > just one, list the several stores you frequent in > order of importance. Guest guest
http://www.sundancenaturalfoods.com/ Our local vegetarian/vegan store where all produce is organic and there are no meat cases or meat products in the store. It is vegetarian with lots of vegan food stuffs. I love the people there, both the clerks and all of the people that shop there are tremendous and everyone is on the same wave length. Peas in a pod! This is a small store, locally owned and they have the best produce out of all of the stores in town, large or small. The employees are so friendly that you feel like family. linda " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll What local store has served your vegetarian needs/diet the best? After shopping there i will go to Fred Meyer for whatever else is on my list. There is a nice new locally owned healthfood store called Gooseberries, and i do try to give them business when i can afford it... they tend to be higher priced. ~ PT ~ Ah! Freedom is a noble thing! Well, its the little perks like cute assistant managers named Randy that make the chore of grocery shopping more enjoyable. ~ PT ~ He who sings scares away his woes. ~ Miguel de Cervantes, novelist (1547-1616) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " artichoke72x " < artichoke72x wrote: > > i spend most of my grocery money at ukrop's (a > richmond-based grocery store with lots of natural > foods, organic produce, virginia produce, a good > bakery that makes wonderful tiramisu, and bulk bins) > and shopper's food warehouse (that has a huge produce > section, good prices, an international section, a good > wine and beer selection and a really cute assistant > manager named randy). > > susie
Guest guest
I do most of my shopping at Fred Meyer. They have a good nutrtition center and they carry lots of other things too. My next stops are Ray's and then Wild Oats-- I jsut find Fred Meyer carries most of what I want at a decent price plus they carry good brands and a ncie variety. We have a chain of stores called 99centonly that is owned by a man who is a vegetarian, many times I can get organic produce, soy milk and yesterday I found a whole bunch of Lightlife Smart Ground meatless ground beef. I am thinking about going today and really stocking up on the stuff.
