Guest guest
12fl oz / 340mls water 4.5oz /128g wholemeal flour 3 rounded tablespoons soya flour pinch salt vegetable oil for frying Pour water into blender, switch on and add dry ingredients gradually. Whiz for about a minute. Leave in a cool place for at least an hour; preferably overnight in the fridge. Beat again just before using. If you want to use for fritters use only 8fl oz/228mls water. Fry on both sides in a very lightly oiled pan and serve while hot with lemon juice and sugar or golden or maple syrup Although personally i would use three quarters soya milk and one quarter water for a more pancake-like consistency Dave , " hmjolly " <hmjolly@n...> wrote: > Does anyone have a recipe for Vegan pancakes that they could send me please. > > With best regards > Jolyon

Guest guest
Jolyon, I use any pancake recipe and substitue butter fer soy butter, milk fer soymilk and each egg fer 1 tbl applesauce and 1 tsp baking powder. Guest guest
Hey Nikki, That's a brilliant idea! When I was a vegetarian, a friend of mine made this book for me containing just pancake recipes. The book is shaped like a heart and sparkly but I've stuck it away never thinking that I could just "veganise" all the recipes inside! (Silly me!) Guest guest
Sorry if this is a repeat - I answered this once and it seems has swallowed me post! Thank you for your sweet reponse! Actually, " veganising " recipes is how I got started. Tho Fraggle always sent me great recipes and I could get them from vegweb, I never really had a vegan recipe book until recently. So I found that if I substituted in all my recipes, I could still enjoy all of my fav foods! So far, so great! Guest guest
Hi Jerrod I went from the hacres diet to an all raw. Well, maybe the brazil nuts I bought for the pancakes aren't truly raw. The batter was so thick that I was aftaid it was going to ruin my turbo, it really buzzed. Lois Jerrod Sessler <jerrod wrote: We made the pancakes last week also. They were really good. We made them a bit to thin but they were still really good. We have a blender waffle recipe that we really enjoy that is vegan but still cooked. Guest guest
I think I'll try this over the weekend. I usually replace 1/4 c of flour with wheatbran, which makes me feel like I'm eating a little healthier. Also, I try to fry up soysage or soy bacon, just to make sure I get some protein. James isn't a huge pancake fan, but maybe he'll like these, especially if they're large and fluffy. Denise , <southernflower@g...> wrote: > > WHOOPSY! My dh agrees with me that these pancakes were the highest risers thus far, (even sans cow's milk!) and they were so tender and light too! I think the thickness/fluffy ratio was about an inch. At LEAST an inch high. :>) And sooo good. You could taste the banana, which might be a detriment to some, but for us it was okay. After all, banana goes with so many things: maple syrup, raspberry (jam), apple (butter), currants (preserves)--as a complementary flavor. I even, briefly, considered chocolate syrup on my stack last night <g>. But in the end, I went with apple butter. Dh had raspberry jam on his, and no soy margarine; he said the pancakes were just as tasty without as with, and since I love to have 'butter' on my pancakes, he gave me the full share. My doubled recipe made seven huge, IHOP-sized pancakes--which is the size dh prefers. Otherwise it makes 12 or 14, or thereabouts. If anybody would care to have the recipe, I'd be more than glad to post it. Bron -- " Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. Guest guest
I think this came up on the list some time back, but since we just ate them this morning thought I would put it up again for those that are craving pancakes or waffles. These are from " The Cravings Place " and are gluten, wheat, dairy and egg free. They tasted wonderful and there were four of us who are very difficult to please. You just add water. It says on the package that it is not pre-sweetened. I got it at Fred Meyers and they were on sale for $1.99. It took just a minute to mix them since you just use the package mix and water. Oh, yes, they are vegan. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
Hi Fraggle I believe in the US, what you call pancakes is what in the UK we call "Scotch Pancakes". Our pancakes are much flatter than yours, and tend to have a bigger circumference!
