Guest guest
My hubby makes a sausage out of his homemade seitan that is pretty good. We were wondering if anyone knows if there is such a thing as a vegetarian sausage casing. Thanks for your help, Mary
Guest guest
I don't use any casings. I make it into patties, or meat balls. Joanie
Guest guest
Hi Mary. I don't know of one but there has to be something like that out there because Soyrizo comes in a casing that is vegetarian, though they do not recommend you eat it. Wish I could help. Good luck finding something, and if you don't he can always just make sausage patties. We'd love to have the recipe. ~ PT ~ My soul, what's lighter than a feather? Wind. Than wind? The fire. Guest guest
Hi: try rice paper, it's cheap, of a similar texture and look, and easy if tedious to use.If you buy it at the oriental store with no instructions, heres how to do it; have a large enough bowl of hot water to soak em in. soak till easily wrappable but not falling apart, roll out sausages and wrap in ricepaper. I would have the fillings prerolled and just wrap em as the rice paper is ready.. I soak one while filling another. Tim
Guest guest
OH and the casings on cheap garlic sausage and other cheap lunch meats is not an animal byproduct. You may be able to purchase such casings from your local butcher shop.. yes.. I know, but where else would you find em? Tim
