Guest guest
Where do you live!? I want to come to a picnic at your place right NOW! *lol* All your picnic ideas sound so good, and those spreads are very interesting ideas. My family thinks it is weird I like those little hotdogs in a can that Worthington makes, but they are so good. " Hotdogs in a can? " they say, but I just laugh and tell them don't knock'em until you try them! Never thought to make a sandwich spread out of them. One thing I miss from the old meat-eating daze [and this is our little secret gang, just between the 1500+ of us *lol*], but I used to like that underwood deviled ham. Shhhhhhhh.... I know, how gross is THAT! *lol* But now my gears are turning and I am thinking I might be able to make something similar with those veggi-links and seasoning. Thanks Judy. This hippy-mama is ready for a picnic. ~ PT ~ We can always live on less when we have more to live for. ~ Stephen McKenney ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Cucumber Salad - > Haystacks > Baked Beans > Sub Sandwiches. > Vega-Link Spread > " Chicken " Salad Spread > Seedless Watermellon, Cantalope, Seedless Grapes are always a hit. Guest guest
Well head south to Alabama. I'll have a picnic ready for you. We just had a picnic dinner on our patio tonight for my birthday. We had the Haystacks that I sent a recipe for and my daughters made a beautiful chocolate cake with fudge icing. They used one of those pretty shaped bundt pans. We have a double light on our umbrella pole over our patio table turned on and citronella candle lit everywhere. They had a fun Birthday Party Music CD playing, that we had bought a while back at Party City. It was perfect weather and the night sounds were wonderful, that started at sunset. God blessed us with such a pretty place here with lots of woods, yard, gardens, flowers and wildlife. I just feel so blessed to be here. And a huge bonus is the beaches that aren't far from us in the Florida Pan Handle. Pensacola, Ft. Walton, Navarre and Destin Beaches are so crystal clear, aqua marine, with the whitest sand. Oh it is a piece of heaven on earth... Pray no more hurricanes head our way!!! They need to say far out at sea and just give us a bit of rain.... You'll like making a spread out of the Vegi-Links. We love those the best of all the Veggie Hot Dogs. Have you bought the Vegetarian Corn Dogs by Morning Star Farms in the Freezer section at the Grocery Story? They are wonderful. LOL I hope you have a picnic soon. Enjoy, Judy - ~ PT ~ Monday, June 05, 2006 11:24 AM Re: QQTW: What is your favorite picnic food ~ Judy Where do you live!? Guest guest
Your region of the country sounds lovely; I have never been that far south before... lived in Hawaii though, but that doesn't count. Now I love Oregon, but the water up here on the beaches is cold with a capital C! *lol* Happy b-day to another gemini! We aren't getting older, just wiser. My kids like the MSF corndogs, especially the mini ones. ~ PT ~ People have been wonderful to me in the good times and the bad, and I've come to believe that you do indeed reap what you sow. Guest guest
OH my. Now I would love to go to Hawaii. That must of really been a beautiful place to live. I've heard that Oregon smells like Christmas trees and is beautiful. That is what my sister tells me anyways. Here husbands family is out there and they love to go visit there. Last time she was out there they went to see Mt. St. Helen's. She was really surprised at how desolate the land around it still was from that 1980 eruption of the Volcano. It is sad how devastating these explosions are to the surrounding landscape many years to come. We went swimming in Lake Michigan once and that was cold too, with a Capital C..... LOL I really don't mind cold water like some people do, though. I end all my showers in cold water. When I was a kid, we had these Doctors from this Natural Health Treatment Institute, Uchee Pines, come and give a talk at our church. They talked about how a really hot shower ended with ice cold water(brisk your skin the whole time) boosts your immune system. I've done it ever since and it never feels cold when you get out of the shower. I love the tingly feeling I get when I do this. It really gets the circulations going. BTW I love your by-line.
