Guest guest
Tim, are those rice wrappers edible and clear like those " cellophane " rice noodles? If so that is a cool idea. ~ PT ~ The more I think about it, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people. ~ Vincent van Gogh ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Tim Jeffrey " <timothydj wrote: > > Hi: > try rice paper, it's cheap, of a similar texture and look, and easy > if tedious to use.If you buy it at the oriental store with no > instructions, heres how to do it; > have a large enough bowl of hot water to soak em in. soak till easily > wrappable but not falling apart, roll out sausages and wrap in > ricepaper. Guest guest
yes they are. they make great sanwich wraps or salad wraps. also great treated as a spring roll[fillingwise] filling must be edible[ as in precooked or saladlike] once wrapped though.. I don't think you can cook these once assembled except to reheat in a nuke unless they are in a sauce.. I'd be scared of them falling apart. I'm sure you could make great dessert rolls too.. stuff with whipped cream and chopped fruit, or toasted nuts sugar butter and cinnamon, or chocolate mousse, or any good small chopped fruit salad of the non liquidy sort, or??? The sugar cravings are baaaaddd right now, can you tell.. darn candida yeast, lol. here I get fifty 12 inch circles for under 2 dollars from any of the oriental stores, or from superstore in the oriental section, safeway might carry em too. They come from 6 in diameter to maybe 2 ft.. not sure what thats for, lol Tim
Guest guest
Thanks Tim. All of your ideas are great. I am going to look in my stores for some of those wraps to try out. Now that the weather is getting hotter I find myself craving cooler, simple meal ideas... salads, crockpot meals, sandwiches and wraps, veggie sushi rolls.... mmmmm ~ PT ~ Seize today, and put as little trust as you can in the morrow. ~ Horace (65-8 BC) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Tim Jeffrey " <timothydj wrote: > > yes they are. they make great sanwich wraps or salad wraps. also great > treated as a spring roll[fillingwise] filling must be edible[ as in > precooked or saladlike] once wrapped though..
