Guest guest
May I suggest that, when you post a recipe with a brand name substance, you also tell us about alternatives. Often, brand named foods are local or regional and are not available everywhere. I have not heard of some of the brands recently included in the ingredients of some of the recipes and would have no idea where to look for them. I also have no idea of what might be a replacement for those products, since they were no generically described. I would be interested in preparing the recipes, but cannot for a lack of sufficient knowledge. Madera
Guest guest
I agree I read some of the recipes I get and don't know what some of the stuff is so I just delete the recipe even if it sounds good. - Madera Roja de la Secoya<maderaroja44 To: < > Saturday, June 10, 2006 12:28 PM Re: Brand names May I suggest that, when you post a recipe with a brand name substance, you also tell us about alternatives. Guest guest
Why don't you look up a brand name on the internet if you aren't familiar with it. You can find detailed info that way. Because of chain stores carrying similiar items across the USA, most brand names can be found in your area. It may be that you just haven't known to look for a particular item, and may actually be in your local stores. Guest guest
Judy, I tend to look things up on the internets as well. Usually, though, I'll ask the poster of the recipe or other members of the group. I've had wonderful feedback that way - amazing people! I figure that there are many recipes being posted by many people and noone is going to know what products I'm familiar with or not familiar with (and vice versa). If anyone has a question about a brand name product, ingredient, measurment or cooking technique that you aren't familiar with, please feel more than welcome to ask any of us. There is always something to learn and I'd bet there is another feral member out there wondering the same thing. S.
