Guest guest
I am glad that you posted this question, PT. It is exactly what I was wondering as I defrosted a vegeburger for dinner on Saturday. > 1. What is your favorite brand name veggie burger? Cauldron Organic Juicy Mushroom Burger or indeed any of the Cauldron vegeburgers - they are a UK brand so probably not available over there. > > 2. What is your favorite homemade veggie burger-patty recipe? The one and only time I made vegeburgers they tasted so much like meat (or my long-distant memory of meat) that I had to throw them out uneaten, LOL. I've bought vegeburgers with tofu that I also had to fling because of their meatiness. I am planning on giving Brad's lentil and potato patties a try. > > 3. If you were loading your veggie burger up with toppings and condiments, what would > be your perfect burger sandwich? At the weekend I made some guacamole and topped my vegeburger with a spoonful of that and a spoonful of Greek yoghurt with smoked paprika on top which was really yummy. Often I like to add sliced cucumber and alfalfa sprouts. Christie
Guest guest
Hi All, Here's my QOTW answers: 1. For favorite veggie burger, I'm torn between Morningstar Farms' Mushroom burger and its Thai burger. 2. I've never made any homemade veggie burgers--yet. 3. My perfect burger sandwich has mustard, green peppers, and tomatoes on it (along with the burger, of course). Smiles, April
Guest guest
That Cauldron brand does sound good ~ I like the name anyway. I just did a search for them and it appears Cauldron brand was bought out by Premier Foods [Premier also owns Quorn brand veggie foods], so maybe one day soon we will have Cauldron sold over here in the USA like Quorn eventually did.... I hope so. I just took a look on their website and some of their burgers look yummy. http://www.cauldronfoods.co.uk/ ~ PT ~ Month of June - beautiful are the fields; Smooth the sea, pleasing the strand; Beautifully long the day, playful the ladies. ~ anon. Place all of that on a toasted bun with a blop of dressing or wrap that up in a warm and toasty flour tortilla. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the tomatoes and avocado. _ >
Guest guest
Yes their food is very good - I've been eating their tofu for years, all the burgers are good and I had forgotten all about the pate - I buy the chickpea and black olive one often. I'll need to check out the recipes on the website too. I'm kind of sorry they have been taken over - seems like all my favourite brand names have been bought up by vast internationals recently and I lose confidence in them. But then it's good if their products are more widely available.
