Guest guest
These were a favorite of mine to make as a child. Thanks for reminding me about this recipe. It is very good. I love crunchy peanut butter, so think I'll try it with that. In fact, I just remembered that one my daughters made these, when they were young, and entered it into the County Fair. They won first place with these. I think she made them with Cow Milk. We'll have to try them with Soy Milk. You can add 1/2 c. shedded coconut to this also and it makes it even better. Guest guest
Mine, too! We love these here. DH & I prefer them with the coconut shreds, but my kids don't, so when I make them I do half with and half without. Have you ever had this flop? I have! *lol* Once I didn't do the boiling part long enough and they never set up and were soft-sticky. But they still tasted good, so we ate them with forks or spoons. ~ PT ~ If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. Guest guest
I have never used anything sugar free because I don't like artificial sweeteners, but I don't see why you couldn't because it calls for so much sugar. You could probably make the whole thing sugar free by using the artificial sweetener for that, too.
