I have a recipe for frozen summer fruit salad that so kicks ass. I'll have to dig it up. Other favorite treats are iced tea, homemade pickles served nice and cold, and rice dream sandwhiches. Guest guest
> What is your favorite summer dessert or treat? ~ I LOVE frozen seedless grapes and frozen blueberries, too. Pretty much any frozen fruit will do ~ give me a bowl to eat with my fingers and I am a happy camper. I also love to make fruit salads for dessert in the summer. I'll share one I think is wonderful in my next post. > Do you have any special tips for keeping cool during > the hot days of summer? ~ Stay wet on the outside by going swimming, and stay dehydrated on the inside by drinking plenty of iced herbal tea, water, lemonade and a brewski with a lime wedge here and there. *lol* I also like to wear a wet bandana on my head and try to keep my hair braided and off my neck. ~ PT ~ Month of June - beautiful are the fields; Smooth the sea, pleasing the strand; Beautifully long the day, playful the ladies. ~ anon. Strawberry shortcake on " buttermilk " biscuits. > Do you have any special tips for keeping cool during > the hot days of summer? I'm fairly lucky to have a house amongst a lot of trees. (I say " fairly " because I've had one fall on the house and another on the car.) They provide enough shade that simply closing the windows creates an icebox in comparison to the heat outdoors. No AC for me. (Most of the time though I prefer to let the air flow). -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog
Guest guest
lately my snack of choice has been plain old fruit salad with no special dressing. The last two days it's been really cold stilton on water crackers though. Staying cool is easy, I don't go out after 10am or before 6pm When I have to go out I keep several frozen water bottles with me, they melt into water we can drink, I can use them to cool off the outside of my body (or the kids), and they also help keep the baby's special milk cold. meg On 6/26/06, Erin <truepatriot wrote: > > --- In <%40>, > " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll wrote: > > > > Time for new group question of the week [QOTW]. > > QOTW for June 25th - July 1st: > > > > What is your favorite summer dessert or treat? > > Strawberry shortcake on " buttermilk " biscuits. > > > Do you have any special tips for keeping cool during > > the hot days of summer? > > I'm fairly lucky to have a house amongst a lot of trees. > (I say " fairly " because I've had one fall on the house and > another on the car.) Guest guest
I have a wonderful way to keep cool on a hot day, indoors or out.-- I wash a load of my clothes, mainly shorts, slacks and tops, and then I wear each one until it's dry. Hey try sticking a top in the freezer for a bit before putting it on Susie or Susan

Guest guest
-------------- Original message -------------- " ~ PT ~ " patchouli_troll Time for new group question of the week [QOTW]. QOTW for June 25th - July 1st: What is your favorite summer dessert or treat? I like *fresh* pineapple, watermellon and ice cold beer. Do you have any special tips for keeping cool during the hot days of summer? I have a wonderful way to keep cool on a hot day, indoors or out.-- I wash a load of my clothes, mainly shorts, slacks and tops, and then I wear each one until it's dry. When clothes are damp-dry they feel nice and cool but not wet...I stay cool all day and I don't have to use the dryer to dry my clothes. As soon as one item is dry, I hang it up, or put it in the drawer, and then I put on another cool damp-dry article of clothing.
