Guest guest
Rather good on grilled veggie burgers or as a side dish. 2 large Vidalia or other sweet onion, sliced Tiny bit olive oil (or margarine or 1/4 cup veggie broth for fat free) Barbecue sauce, your choice Saute onions in oil or broth, cooking till soft, (or cooked as much as you want them) add BBQ sauce. Serve over veggie burgers or even as a side dish. Alternately, you can slice the onions in thick rings, not separating, grill on grill, then put in bowl, separate into rings, toss with BBQ sauce. Guest guest
This sounds really good. I think I would even like veggie hotdogs simmered in this mixture. I remember being sort of surprized how BBQ and steak sauces are typically vegetarian and often vegan. They really dress up tofu and veggie " meats " . Thanks for sharing your recipe. ~ PT ~ I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs. ~ Joseph Addison (1672-1719) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , treazure noname <treazured wrote: > > Rather good on grilled veggie burgers or as a side dish. > > 2 large Vidalia or other sweet onion, sliced > Tiny bit olive oil (or margarine or 1/4 cup veggie broth for fat free) > Barbecue sauce, your choice > > Saute onions in oil or broth, cooking till soft, (or cooked as much as you want them) add BBQ sauce. It's great on baked potatoes too. A-1, BBQ sauce, ranch, and salsa I'll try on anything. -Lisa
Guest guest
Me too! *lol* BBQ sauces and A-I are so good on portabella mushroom " steaks " and many other grilled veggies or veggie burgers.
