Guest guest
Sangria Adapted from a recipe in the 'Vegetarian Epicure Book Two' by Anna Thomas. I know didn't follow her recipe exact since I never bought any brandy that her recipe called for [she listed 1/3 cup brandy]. So here is how I made it: Sangria 1/2 gallon dry red wine 1/3 cup sugar 3 large oranges 2 large lemons 1/4 cup Triple Sec ice cubes 1 1/2 cups club soda Pour wine into a pitcher and stir in sugar. Add 2 sliced oranges, squeezing out the juice before adding in, and also doing the same with one of the lemons. Stir well and then chill for a few hours. Take the slices out of the sangria and add in the freshly sliced remaining orange and lemon. You can either leave them floating in the sangria or use to garnish each drink; I liked letting them float about. Stir in the Triple Sec and just enough ice to keep drink cold while not refrigerated. Add the club soda right before serving. Yield: almost 3 quarts sangria I'd love seeing some other recipes for this and learning how you make sangria. ~ PT ~ At the sound of the bell in the silent night, I wake from my dream in this dreamworld of ours. Gazing at the reflection of the moon in a clear pool, I see, beyond my form, my real form. ~ Kojisei
