Mushroom Nut Patties

Just made these for lunch. Yummmmmm.

 

Mushroom -Nut Patties

Source: Very Innovative Parties Cookbook

Yield 20-25 patties

 

1 c. Cottage Cheese

1 c. Cracker Crumbs( 1 cylinder of Saltine crackers crushed.

1/2 c. Walnuts or Pecans, chopped

1 Onion, chopped

1 c. Mushrooms, sliced

6 Eggs

1/4 t. Sage

1/4 t. Salt

2 pkgs. of George Washington Golden Seasoning and Broth

Oil

 

Mix all the ingredients together except the oil. Pour oil just until the

bottom of the frying pan is covered and Heat the oil over Med. High heat.

Drop in spoonfuls of batter in the hot oil and flatten the patties with the

back of your spoon. Turn when browned and brown the other side. Add more

oil as needed for making all the patties.

They sound very good. But what is

George Washington Golden seasoning

like? I never heard of it before.

 

And how do they know it tastes like

George Washington???? *lol*

They are yummy. The George Washington Seasoning comes in a box with several dry

packages of seasoning in them. A lot of Grocery stores carry it and most health

food stores. If not you can ask them if they can get it in. It also comes in a

Rich brown Seasoning and Broth flavor pkg.

They are vegetarian. But you could also make up that " Chicken Seasoning " that I

posted a few days back and substitute it for this. You would substitute 1 T. of

that homemade " Chicken Seasoning " for each pkg. I often do this.

 

We found that if we reduce to the eggs to 4 that we liked it better.

Okay, thanks for the info.

I think I will find something I can use

to substitute the GW brand if I cannot

find it. From reading the recipe directions

I think it will taste good no matter what

brand broth packet I find. :)
