holy cow, there are a lot. we have the tofu festival in little tokyo

(which, extremely sadly, i won't be able to go to this year :( ), world fest

(big

vegan festival), several other assorted vegan/vegetarian festivals, chinese

festival, hawaiian festival, you name it. then of course we have the " taste

of " festivals that several parts of los angeles have (for instance, we had a

taste of pasadena earlier this year, with all the local restaurants doling uot

samples of their food). a little further out there's the strawberry festival

in oxnard; head up to northern cal and you get the garlic festival and the

artichoke festival (william hung played there this year :P ) and a lot more.

i'm a regular at the tofu festival and i used to go to worldfest every year

as well. when i lived in madison, wi i went to the taste of madison every

year, and i went to the taste of chicago once when i lived in chicago, but it

was

too sticky and crowded for my taste (plus there wasn't much for a veg-head

like me to eat).
