In transition towards vegetarianism? > Or just here to learn ways to serve more meatless > meals? Vegetarian for 39 years, transitioning gently into vegan ie once the parmesan, feta and halloumi cheese in my fridge are used up they will not be replaced. I stopped buying dairy milk a few years ago and I'm on my last pot of yoghurt. I'm not too keen on most of the vegan alternatives so I shall just need to look for a different way of eating, particularly in terms of treats and desserts. I have a recipe for cashew cream which I plan to try out and also one for cardamom and rose ice cream. I certainly don't want life to become too austere and boring so I am determined to be inventive and resourceful in terms of my cooking. > And just for fun: > 4. Coffee or tea? Hmmm - I love cappuccino but that will soon have to go as most places only offer a soya milk alternative which I don't like (I use Tiger White which comes from Spain and is made from chufas which are sedge roots). Hate tea but drink a lot of herb and fruit infusions - Red Zinger, Wild Raspberry, Cranberry and Apple, Peppermint and Liquorice, Rosehip and Hibiscus, Lindenflower are amongst my current favourites. Guest guest
NAME - Kathleen, group lurker and occasional message poster WHERE DO YOU LIVE - Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada - half-way between Vancouver and the Yukon in the middle of BC's wilderness VEGETARIAN - Technically, ovo-lacto-vegetarian for about 17 years, but I rarely eat 'ovos' and only eat 'lacto' yogurt because I can't give up my yogurt. As much as I tried, soy yogurt is just something I can't stomach :-x COFFEE OR TEA - Currently, I'm only drinking tea which tends to be loose teas, primarily black, green, some herbals, and rooibos. I've given up coffee for a few weeks, just starting on August 1st. I do this every so often when I feel that I need to, such as (a) for Lent, (b) when I feel grossed out by coffee like I've 'overdone it' (too many morning stops at Tim Horton's!), and/or © I watch a documentary on the coffee industry and its 'evils', then feel guilty that I should be supporting that industry (including Fair Trade) and all those that profit in a big way from it. Although I wonder how much better the tea industry is...

Each month I've been having less. Even though I have switched to soy milk for things like cereal, oatmeal, and baking I don't think I could ever give up cheese and yogurt, or eggs. > And just for fun: > 4. Coffee or tea? Tea. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is Ramesh, originally from India but currently in Arizona, US. I have been a vegetarian all my life. During childhood didnt eat because of religion but as I grew I became very strong about not eating. I just cant stand the though of eating an animal for my taste buds. Add to that the health benefits of not eating, was a easy choice to stick with. Black tea with milk(organic) :-).
