Coffee, I'm moving to a house within walking distance of a Starbucks. My

hubby tells me I've financed the education of half of Columbia with my coffee

habit.

Long-time vegetarian. Pregnant for the 3rd time in 4 years and

backsliding due to cravings and an extremely low iron level that is

just kicking my butt.

depends on the day. Decaf coffee in the morning, sweet tea during the

day, tea if I am sick, trying to lose weight or having morning sickness.

Vegetarian for 39 years, transitioning gently into vegan ie once the

parmesan, feta and halloumi cheese in my fridge are used up they will

not be replaced. I stopped buying dairy milk a few years ago and I'm

on my last pot of yoghurt. I'm not too keen on most of the vegan

alternatives so I shall just need to look for a different way of

eating, particularly in terms of treats and desserts. I have a recipe

for cashew cream which I plan to try out and also one for cardamom and

rose ice cream. I certainly don't want life to become too austere and

boring so I am determined to be inventive and resourceful in terms of

my cooking.

> And just for fun:

> 4. Coffee or tea?

Hmmm - I love cappuccino but that will soon have to go as most places

only offer a soya milk alternative which I don't like (I use Tiger

White which comes from Spain and is made from chufas which are sedge

roots). Hate tea but drink a lot of herb and fruit infusions - Red

Zinger, Wild Raspberry, Cranberry and Apple, Peppermint and Liquorice,

Rosehip and Hibiscus, Lindenflower are amongst my current favourites.

NAME - Kathleen, group lurker and occasional message poster

WHERE DO YOU LIVE - Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada - half-way

between Vancouver and the Yukon in the middle of BC's wilderness

VEGETARIAN - Technically, ovo-lacto-vegetarian for about 17 years,

but I rarely eat 'ovos' and only eat 'lacto' yogurt because I can't

give up my yogurt. As much as I tried, soy yogurt is just something I

can't stomach :-x

COFFEE OR TEA - Currently, I'm only drinking tea which tends to be

loose teas, primarily black, green, some herbals, and rooibos.

I've given up coffee for a few weeks, just starting on August 1st. I

do this every so often when I feel that I need to, such as (a) for

Lent, (b) when I feel grossed out by coffee like I've 'overdone it'

(too many morning stops at Tim Horton's!), and/or © I watch a

documentary on the coffee industry and its 'evils', then feel guilty

that I should be supporting that industry (including Fair Trade) and

all those that profit in a big way from it.

Although I wonder how much better the tea industry is...

Hi,

My name is Bonnie and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where there

is no shortage of vegetarian food. I've been eating vegetarian for

five years now. The only meat eaters in my house are my 4 cats! And

I'm a tea drinker - black, green, red or herbal!

All the best,

Bonnie.

I used to be a black tea drinker (brand: PG Tips) but since giving birth I now

drink coffee. I do a pour through after James, he drinks Black Tiger from Coffee

People.

Seems this is the only time I get to post to the group....hello to those who

still remember me! I can't believe that Juniper is already 5 months old! She is

already sitting up by herself and has found that she can be on her hands & knees

for a length of time....we're not ready for her to start crawling yet!!!!

Transition. I have cut out most meat but still have

chicken & fish a couple of times a month. Each month

I've been having less. Even though I have switched to

soy milk for things like cereal, oatmeal, and baking I

don't think I could ever give up cheese and yogurt, or

eggs.

> And just for fun:

Tea. I hate coffee, unless mocha cake is involved.

I prefer black tea, not herbal.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ramesh, originally from India but currently in Arizona, US.

I have been a vegetarian all my life. During childhood didnt eat

because of religion but as I grew I became very strong about not

eating. I just cant stand the though of eating an animal for my taste

buds. Add to that the health benefits of not eating, was a easy choice

to stick with.

Black tea with milk(organic) :-).

Vegetarian since 1995. Vegan since June 2006.

I drink both, but coffee is my addiction.

At least a pot a day, always black, often

a flavored variety.

3. Vegetarian? In transition towards vegetarianism?

Leaning towards vegetarianism, but am primarily ovo-lacto

(don't drink milk, just use it in cooking or eata few dairy products

(sometimes a tad flexitarian, but I have not eaten beef or pork

for over 15 years). I am hoping to learn way

to serve more meatless meals, too.

I find the sites, helpful, and an opportunity to contact so many wonderfully

helpful people. Now if the weather would cool down

I might be able to cook some of the recipes they have shared.

And just for fun:

4. Coffee or tea?

I drink both...green tea usually for breakfast and coffee, either

iced or black later ..when I am working, I make a pot of coffee

(sometimes flavored or whatever is on sale..hehe)

for my co-workers to enjoy, too (summer vacation is flying

by much too quickly).

3. I'm slowly transitioning towards vegetarianism. I'm haven't eaten

beef or pork for about a year. Now I'm sort of weaning off of the

rest...

4. I love both frappucinos and chai. But I guess I like tea better.
