Guest guest
NAME - Marie WHERE DO YOU LIVE - Haarlem, Netherlands VEGETARIAN - Ovo-lacto-vegetarian for well over 20 years but we are now using far less eggs and dairy than previously. I make 3-4 vegan meals per week. COFFEE OR TEA - Tea, tea, tea and more tea for me please. We came back from our holiday in England with a HUGE 10 cup teapot called a Brown Betty (see the link for a picture). The extra little lip/handle at the front makes it much easier to lift when full. http://bestbritishfoods.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=935 <http://bestbritishfoods.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=935 & category=10> & category=
Guest guest
My aunt used to have one of these. She loved brown pottery/ ceramic. I remember going to her home, as a child and her serving hot chocolate out of it. : ))) Judy - Marie Rieuwers Thursday, August 03, 2006 2:44 AM Re: August 2006 Roll Call - MARIE NAME - Marie WHERE DO YOU LIVE - Haarlem, Netherlands VEGETARIAN - Ovo-lacto-vegetarian for well over 20 years but we are now using far less eggs and dairy than previously. Guest guest
Wow, Marie. You are becoming quite the anglophile! I'm glad you had such a good trip to England. Your post about your holiday helped to confirm my belief that Britain is one of the eaiest places to be vegetarian in Europe. When I first became vegetarian here in the late 60s the best you could hope for was a cheese salad (2 bits of lettuce, a couple of slices of cucumber, half a tomato, a dollop of Heinz salad dressing and half a pound of grated cheddar cheese) or cheese omelette and chips. Now even cafes in small villages up in the Highlands of Scotland offer a vegetarian option.
