Guest guest
I don't think anyone should EVER eat oysters, and that isn't just because of my personal vegetarian path of choice. They all contain a toxin called vibrio, and depending upon the level the oyster contains, it can make you so sick. My dh was in the hospital for three days and almost died from eating an oyster with toxic levels of vibrio. Also, just recently in the news, over 70 people in the Pacific Northwest have been hospitalized with vibrio from eating raw oysters. A few years ago my dh's case made quite stir in environmental reporting because there had been very few cases of this toxin in Pacific NW oysters... and now look, two years later it has happened on a larger scale? Yeesh, no thanks. Let oysters live... live and let live. ~ PT ~ When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life. ~ Jean Bolen, M.D. ~~~*~~~*~~~> , Jennifer <jenni45962 wrote: > > Um, yuck. Guest guest
*Covers Face* I love oysters, only thing is, i don't eat them raw..thats how you get sick. I did get very sick once with shrimp and it took me almost 5 years to be able to look at them again. > I don't think anyone should EVER eat oysters, > and that isn't just because of my personal > vegetarian path of choice. Guest guest
Thank you! Now when my FIL tries to get me to eat them, I have a better excuse than " I'm not eating something that looks like an ox blew it's nose.
