Guest guest
It will work, are you using 1/3 to 1/2 cup with the mix? If you are going to use more I would use the unsweetened soy milk. I sub all the time with soy milk in baking. Donna , Kadee M <abbey_road3012 wrote: > > Hi all. I 've been wondering about this for months. Can you use soymilk for cooking? I make cornbread a lot, and I've always been curious as to how it would taste if I used vanilla soymilk, but I never tried it because I didn't want to waste the 70¢ package of cornbread mix. Guest guest
Yes, the box says to put 1/3 cup. I always add a little more than that, though. I also add brown sugar and regular sugar, so I figured it might taste good with the vanilla flavor in the soymilk. Thanks. Guest guest
Dear Kadee number two, I forgot to add in my previous post, that most of the time, I make my own soy milk from scratch. I have a SoyJoy soy milk machine that takes most of the work out of the making. It can make soy milk in 15 minutes from presoaked beans. It is absolutely wonderful. The only " problem " is cleaning up and that isn't a problem for me. I just wash it as soon as I am done, and let it air dry. It is great. They have come out with a newer model that makes both " hot " and " cold " soy milk. Mine that i have only makes the " hot " . But, I will keep using mine until it gives it up. Guest guest
I've been wanting one of those... As expensive as soymilk is in the store I'm sure it would pay for itself in no time. I've read somewhere that you can make almond milk with just a blender- would this be possible with soy as well?
