Guest guest
Sounds like an amazing trip! Where did you go, what did you see and what did you find veggie to eat there that was good? Are those enough questions? *lol* ~ PT ~ Enjoy the present hour, Be thankful for the past, And neither fear nor wish The approaches of the last. ~ Abraham Cowley (1618-1667) ~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " nadiana01 " <nadiana1 wrote: i just came back > from hiking in alaska, so i haven't bought groceries yet and want to > wait a few days so i have some money to play with. i found seitan, > large-pearl couscous, and a bag of frozen broccoli. i threw it all in > a pot with veggie broth and herbs and lemon, and it came out really > yummy. tonight will probably be beans and rice, because that's what i > have. > melody

Guest guest
That sounds like such a blast. Glad you had a good time and also that you were able to find good things to eat on the trip. Alaska is somewhere I definitely want to go to one day. ~ PT ~ If your religion does not change you, then you should change your religion. ~ Elbert Hubbard ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " nadiana01 " <nadiana1 wrote: > thanks!! i organize at least one hiking/adventure trip to a national > park every year; this one had about 17 people total and it was, > indeed, amazing! > denali national park, with one excursion to the arctic circle (where > it was 72 degrees ) > most of the time i ate clif and odwalla bars. for dinner, i got boca > burgers, portobello burgers, or an actually really good vegan burrito > from the restaurant by our cabins. > our last night there, a few of us decided to splurge and go to a nice > restaurant in a fancy hotel that overlooked the area. there was > absolutely nothing veggie on the menu, so i asked if they could do a > veggie plate for me. the waiter looked skeptical, said they could > probably do a portobello burger or something, but said he'd ask. > well, the chef, for some reason, had tofu in the kitchen, and made me > an amazing vegetable plate with balsamic and rosemary roasted > portobellos, veggies of all kinds, and glazed, crispy tofu that > honestly is the best tofu i've ever had. go figure! > melody
Guest guest
Wow! Your pics are awesome! Makes me want to go even more now. That is so cool you were able to see a Bear, too... oh, and 72 degrees is pretty sweet for touring the artic circle. ~ PT ~ It's very simple. There's only one requirement of any of us, and that is to be courageous. Because courage, as you might know, defines all other human behavior. And, I believe -- because I've done a little of this myself -- pretending to be courageous is just as good as the real thing. ~ David Letterman ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " nadiana01 " <nadiana1 wrote: > > oh, and here are some pix if you want to see them: > > > http://pg.photos./ph/nadiana01/album?.dir=/ 53a9scd & .src=ph & .tok=phMm7VFBy1lMPzF6 > melody
