Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie

3 eggs

1 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped

1 unbaked 9 inch deep-dish pastry pie shell

Preheat oven to 350 F.  Combine the egg, corn syrup, sugar, butter,

and vanilla in a medium bowl using a wire whisk.  Stir in the

pecans.  Sprinkle the chocolate chunks over the bottom of the

crust. Pour the pecan mixture into the pastry shell.

Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a knife inserted 2 inches from the

center comes out with little bits of filling attached. Cool on wire

rack for 2 hours.

Refrigerate until serving time.  Yield: 8 servings
