Guest guest
QOTW [questions of the week] for August 27 - Semptember 2nd: This week's group question is inspired by a feature I read in this months Vegetarian Times. In it they asked several well-known chefs and culinary specialists what kitchen gadget they would want to take with them if they were to be on a " reality " show like SURVIVOR. It got me to wondering what kitchen tools you have come to depend on for ease in meal preparation. What kitchen tool [or tools] would you never want to be without in your kitchen? Guest guest
The loaf pan, I make so much stuff in that pan, and I can't be without my bottle opener for my beer, and the pan lids because if the dishes are dirty I have to eat off those sometimes. I like this question of the week thing PT. Guest guest
My large stock-pot and hand held blender. I use these a few times per week. I could list many other items and gadgets, but these 2 are a must for me. Isis

Guest guest
I could not live without my chef's knife. I use it for everything: chopping, dicing and slicing. Guest guest
I really love my immersion blender, but if I had to go somewhere where electiricty was not an option, I'd have to say I couldn't do without good knives or a can opener. It would be so hard to choose, because I would want a good stock pot, too! ~ PT ~ " If we keep everything in balance, we are in harmony with ourselves and are at peace. Guest guest
Glad you enjoy it, Paul. I do too. We've been doing group questions each week since last October! Pretty soon I am going to run out of ideas! *lol* New question ideas are always welcome. ~ PT ~ All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. Guest guest
What type of immersion blender do you have? We had one, I forget the brand, nothing expensive. Jason's uncle was a prof chef and he bought it for us. I really loved it and used it a lot mroe than I expected, I missed it when it broke! I really would like to get another one eventually! My husband made me so angry recently. He bought a cutco knife. OHMIGOSH have you seen how much those cost???? It's a nice knife and all but so not worth the $120! All I can say is it had BETTER last a lifetime. meg On 8/29/06, ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > I really love my immersion blender, but if I had > to go somewhere where electiricty was not an > option, I'd have to say I couldn't do without > good knives or a can opener. Guest guest
I've been reading all these responses and I couldn't think of anything in my kitchen I really love till last night. Presto deep fryer. I use it as a slow cooker, and if it's nearly suppertime and whatever's cooking isn't done I can turn it up and it gets it done fast. I use it to steam vegetables, and of course as a deep fryer. It goes in the dishwasher too! Kadee Sedtal Meg <itszen4me wrote: What type of immersion blender do you have? Guest guest
My Grandmother gave it to me because she never used it. She thought it was only good for making smoothies or individual servings of milkshakes because that was what was on the picture on the box it came in. *lol* It is a Betty Crocker model 1305. ~ PT ~ All your strength is in your union.
