Guest guest
Little paring knife, big chopping knife, big spoon, glass mixing bowl. I'm glad I can do things the old-fashioned way when I need to, even though I often don't. Blessed be, Jayelle " Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. Guest guest
Hi! Of course, If I were going to be on a survivor type show and I had to choose my very most important kitchen tool, it would probably be a knife, or matches to start a fire, or a pot to cook in, or something like that! But I thought about the question awhile, and realized that my toaster oven that I got a few years ago for Christmas is really a huge time and energy saving tool that I use more than I ever thought I would. The one I have has a feature that automatically turns the oven off when the timer goes off...which is really neat as the timer is required to start the cooking. If it is possible for me to fit the baking dish I'm using into the toaster oven, then I use it in preference to my larger oven. Sure keeps the house cooler! I also do toast in it. In addition, it's a great way to quickly roast eggplants and peppers by using the broiler setting. Paula QOTW: What kitchen tool [or tools] would you never want to be Posted by: " ~ PT ~ " patchouli_troll patchouli_troll Sun Aug 27, 2006 8:42 am (PST) QOTW [questions of the week] for August 27 - Semptember 2nd: This week's group question is inspired by a feature I read in this months Vegetarian Times. In it they asked several well-known chefs and culinary specialists what kitchen gadget they would want to take with them if they were to be on a " reality " show like SURVIVOR. It got me to wondering what kitchen tools you have come to depend on for ease in meal preparation. What kitchen tool [or tools] would you never want to be without in your kitchen?
