Soy beans in pods?

Hi Val,

I just steam mine until they are heated thru (8 mins?), pop them and

eat. The pods are chewy & a little fuzzy, probably wouldn't hurt you

to eat them but they're not very palatable.

Also sometimes I put the frozen pods in a shallow dish of salty water

& nuke them a few minutes & pop & eat :)

I bet fresh from the garden they are tasty! Are they hard to grow?

What zone is good for them?

Peace,

Diane

I have never cooked them before. I bought a bag of frozen soy beans

still in the pods, hoe do I cook them and do you eat the pods?

Val,

I boil them until crisp tender on the stove top. The pods should be just

beginning to split open on their own. The beans should be cooked, but not

mushy. When their done I rinse them well in very cold water and serve. I

leave them in the pod and let people pull the beans out themselves, sorta like

peanuts. I like them best cold with a tiny bit of salt.

Thanks Julie, I thought that you did take them out of the pod, just was not

sure? Will let you know how it goes.

You either steam them or boil them in some water,

then sprinkle with salt, and shell them and eat.

No you do not eat the pods. I guess you could if

you wanted to, I mean they aren't poisonous or

anything, but they are tough. :)

Enjoy!
