Vegan Aioli?

Has anyone made an aioli w/ vegannaise? I want to try the below recipe

w/ some asparagus tonight, but my friends are vegan. I'd hate to be so

excited about something and have it be a bust....

1 cup mayonnaise

4 teaspoons soy sauce

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juice

2 teaspoons wasabi paste

Whisk together - easy!

Thanks!

Well, I'm on the digest, so am just seeing this today.

I think it would make for a good substitute (actually,

I prefer Nayonaise, and it's lower in calories) and

would be quite appreciated. Did you venture it without

feedback from us?

I haven't tried making aioli with Vegenaise yet, but

I have found it to work great in every salad or

recipe that I used to use mayo in. Vegenaise rocks!

I feel confident it will work in your recipe for aioli

just fine. Go for it! :)

Thanks everyone! I tried it and it worked out great. I had some left

over from the asparagus and used it on a grilled

portabella " cheeseburger " -- so yummy! I sliced some cheddar on top

and the cheese cooled off the heat from the wasabi a little bit. It

was a different combination but one that I think worked!
