Hello Everyone!

 

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. My name is Gabriela and I

have been a vegetarian for three years now. I do eat dairy products

though.

 

I mainly joined this group to learn more and hopefully get some much

needed guidance. I am having a hard time figuring out what to eat if I

want to lose weight. I am on the go and do not like to cook too much.

I need ANY tips, diets, helpful links on how I can lose weight as a

vegetarian. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Mainly eat a large variety of veggies, nuts, whole grains and fruit along with

lots of water. Prepare them in healthy ways and greatly reduce the high fat

foods. Check out the files on this list. Folks share great recipes all the

time and they are filed in different catagories in there everyday. Start

experimenting with new foods and start cooking. That way you know what is

going into what you make and you can make all kinds of great foods to enjoy.

Many drinks out there have tons of calories in them and the sugar free are not

good for you. Water is the best beverage of all, what our body needs most of

and has zero calories naturally. Save those calories for high fiber foods that

really stick to your ribs and keep you regular. Whole grain foods are

expecially good at filling you up, without a lot of calories. Make frozen fruit

smoothies, eat granolas and other healthy cereals. We love the Bare Naked

Granola's mixed with the Breyers Fruit on Bottom Yogurts or Stoneyfield Yogurts

just stirred together with no milk added.

 

Get out and start moving/exercising, get fresh air and sunlight, plenty of rest,

live a life full of gratitude and joyfullness.

 

I wish you great success. The older we get the harder it is for any of us to

loose weight, but if you can increase your metabolism with exercise it helps

greatly. Plus exercise increases your endurance, flexibility and muscle tone.

I love water aerobics, playing basket ball and volley ball, short bike rides

with my family, hiking and yard work. Lifetime TV channel has Denise Austin

workouts every morning in 2 half hour episodes from 6-7a.m. CST. I need to get

up and do those more regularily.

hi gabriela and welcome to the group!

 

lots of fresh fruits and vegetables are great for

losing weight. they are low in calories and full of

vitamins and minerals. fresh salads and vegetable

soups with each meal will help you fill up without too

many calories.

 

for me, limiting sugar, dairy, and wheat intake helps

me lose weight too.
