Not too strange---I also used to call it " facon " (or fakin')! And here I thought I was so original! =o) Now I'll have to add feak, ficken, and fausage to my vocabulary. ---Shannon =o)
Guest guest
Thanx Kadee! I am originally from Oklahoma, but now an adopted Texan! We moved out here to be close to my parents (what the **** were we thinking??) But now they are packin' up and heading back to Oklahoma---Yay! I think we'll stay. I kinda like it here. I am SO grateful for all the veggie choices in the stores now! I LOVE the " burgers " and " corn dogs " (my family does too!). I have to say that I was worried that I would really miss eating meat since I was a HUGE fan of chicken, but it's really amazing to me that I do not miss it at all! I have no cravings, no desire. It feels perfectly natural, and I feel great physically! Now if my son and husband would just join me... lol I'm not nagging them, just being an example for them to eventually follow! =o) Guess I'm feeling typy, too! G'nite! ---Shannon =o) , Kadee M <abbey_road3012 wrote: > > Shannon- > Wahoo, you Texan! I'm from there. Abilene, anyway. My husband used to live in Houston. Cool town, despite the fact that my in-laws live nearby. Good luck continuing in your new eating choices... it's great, you will soon be an " old pro! " I am amazed lately by all the vegetarian things at the store. I just found some Campbells mushroom gravy in a can, no suspicious titles like " natural flavors " or anything, and boy does it beat the heck out of stirring constantly till thickened! Just put it in the pan and heat it. Pour it on some Potato Buds and eat up. Good food. Fresh Gourmet brand cheese and garlic croutons are wonderful as well, dipped in Italian salad dressing. I've eaten two bags of those things since yesterday. > Well that got lengthy, didn't it? I'm in such a typy mood, I just typed half a novel for a 360 blog entry for no reason at all. Guest guest
Like a bumper sticker I saw once- " I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could. " I think those meat alternatives are the only reason I didn't have to drag my husband in kicking and screaming.
