we have a Harry's market here too, but it is owned by Harry, who is local, LOL,

it sells good health stuff and I go there before whole foods first, and get

whatever I can't get there at whole foods because I like to support the little

guy.

My First Whole Foods Visit

I am from a small town in Florida and now a small town in Georgia. There

are no stores like Whole Foods. Sure, we have Richards Whole foods in

Florida (http://tinyurl.com/z4zv8 Check out the recipe section.) And Sun

Splash in Port Charlotte Fl. But, I was in awe of Whole Foods.

Actually this one was called Harry's Market. It was some 94 miles away and

I was sure we would get lost and end up in Hotlanta and be killed by a drive

by shooting. <g> And, yes...we did get lost....both going and coming.

But, My mouth dropped open when we entered the door and I don't think I

closed it the whole time we were there. We had stopped for lunch in Ellijay

GA, but we could have saved some money, just eating samples in each

department.

So....why did I go there. Well.... I wanted to try tofurky...which I bought

And I wanted to try Quorm...witch I bought. Alone with some tofurky

sausage, some nutritional yeast and some spirulina, (at half the price of

our local health food store.) We had a great time...even getting lost. And

stopped on the way home for a bottle of takillya. <g>

Next week....The Village Market in Collegedale, Tn.

Oh, yeah...and still waiting for Trader Joes to open in the same town as

Harry's Market.

Hmmm, I just happen to be from 'Hotlanta'. Haven't been shot at yet.

Life is short, stay awake for it!

I've just discovered Whole Foods Market too, and I know how you feel! I'm from

Texas and there was certainly nothing like that where we lived, so walking into

that heaven of a store, finding all those wonderful things was amazing. It sure

is a fun place, like a kid in a candy store. :)

Yesterday while I was in Charlottesville, for the Festival (and having

awesome PB cookies) I stopped into the Whole Foods in that town before

heading home. It was large and nice and clean, but I gotta say, I agree

with the folks that have complained about the prices!! I bought very little

there. I stopped in Richmond (halfway home) for the " little guy " who isn't

so little any more ;) Ellwood Thompson's. I've been going there for

years. http://www.ellwoodthompsons.com The prices are better, and it's

only one hour from my house. Given the prices, and the two hour trip, I

doubt I'll go back to Whole Foods.
