My Amazon wishlist now has 255 items on it! This group getting me on ebay

recently means that Amazon doesn't get any of my money this month!!

GO AWAY! haha.

Don't bother with the Tassajara Bread book. There are newer ones that

are much more versatile and less of the " dense, like a rock " healthy

breads. My pick for best non-machine bread book is " Best of Country

Breads. It's a 'Taste of Home' brand book printed in 2000, ISBN 0-

89821-268-5. It's a couple of hundred recipes picked from thousands

submitted by homebakers all over America. It has everything, yeast,

quick, nut, fruit, holiday, grain...breads, muffins, biscuits, etc.

This one covers it all very nicely.

The heavier the bread, the better, to me! Those fluffy type breads just

don't impress me. To each his own.

;)

I completely agree with you Thia . I love a dense chewy bread. The sponge

breads you can keep.

Ohhh, my mouth is watering.....a good size chunk of bread pulled off of a

freshly made loaf, hearty enough to hold up to spreading " butter " on

it....... uhhh, to sink my teeth into that right now...awww, heck....gonna

make some bread tomorrow...I see it coming!

LOL.

I really like a heavy bread. But they tend to have a lot of calories that

go wth the weight. For sandwiches and French toast, I'll try to find a

light, whole grain bread that is around 40-60 calories a slice. For morning

toast, the heavier the better!!

I don't think they have a lot more calories, never noticed that on any package

that I have bought before. The ones that I have made also don't seem to have

high calorie ingredients either.
