Yes, it has an open area and steam will come out when

it's built up and then I can turn the flame down, it's

one of the safety features. I agree, there needs to

be truth in advertising. You also need the book so you

can make sure you are using it correctly.

Thanks, Hun. Yeah, hopefully, it won't take too long to get here. But the

woman at the company did spend some time with me on the phone telling me all

about it and how to use it so I could get started before the book got here;

which was quite nice of her to volunteer all that!

You know, good customer service, does not go unnoticed. What a breath of fresh

air, when they really try to be helpful and caring isn't it.

Yes!! If I ever decide to get a more current model, I will stick with

Fagor, because of it. :)
