Guest guest
Hi all! Just stumbled on this group, it's great! As a new vegetarian(1 yr) I am looking for specific local shopping store chains(washington state) that I can pick up various veget. items. Morning star is getting old...GArden burger stuff is hit and miss with us, and we don't care for Boca. I like to use Veet(veget.chicken) in various things but have a hard time getting it at the store regularly. I am in need of any of your tried and true fav. recipes to help give me variety. If you could please email me a few of your favorite, I'd be so grateful! Thanks for any help/advice you have. OH, also looking for a hot dog that actually tastes decent! LOL! I have a very hard time with tastes, if it doesn't taste good I won't eat it! Hehe A hot dog at camping time would be great, as long as I could get it down! LOL! Thanks again! Guest guest
Hi from a fellow Washingtonian, Well I get my stuff from Fred Meyers, we also have a Central Market in Poulsbo. I go there about every couple of months. Otherwise Marlenes deli and Bakery has all kinds of vege products. That is just off the top of my head. Good luck, Judy H n/a <lowmerc1 wrote: Hi all! I haven't seen Veet in years!! I'd actually forgotten about it, and I used to love that stuff!! I just now tried to find them online...to see if they have a store locator for the town I am in now, but couldn't find them at all. Next time you happen upon it, let me know if they have a website listed on the Veet package! Thanks! My fav, by the way, is Light Life. Chick'n smart strips, & smart bacon, both vegan. They have other products, but I have not tried them yet. Not available around here, that I have seen. http://lightlife.com/index.html Thia
Guest guest
We love Wothington and Loma Linda Vegetarian Meat substitutes http://www.kelloggs.com/brand/worthington/ and buy them by the case. They have a huge variety of products, canned and frozen. www.adventistbookcenter.org carries them. Click on store locator on the side bar to find one close to you. It is worth the drive and you can stock up. We love the Vega-links, Big Franks and Linketts for camping or cooking at home. I love the linkettes at breakfast. I just heat them on the stove in their broth. I freeze the broth for any of their products in zip lock bags and put into a soup recipes that I made later. They Some grocery stores also carry these in their health food section. The Adventist Book Store also carry Bill's Best " chicken like " seasoning and " beaf like " seasoning mix. www.billsbest.net . There is another Chicken and beef like seasoning put out by McKays. They carry Bakon seaoning which has a nice smoked flavor you can add to beans, toasted nuts, etc. when cooking. I love Worthington " Fri-Chik " and use it to make " Chicken Salad, Potato Chicken Noodle Soup, casseroles, bread and fry it or just bake it, plus many other recipes. The frozen " luncheon meat slices " are wonderful on subs. They come in " Chicken, smoked beef, corn beef, balono, wham(like ham), and turkey flavors. I use the canned Worthington Choplets, which is a gluten pattie, to use in stir fries or to bread and fry. Also the Worthingdon " Scallops " are really wonderful, as are the tender bits. We bread with Italian bread crumbs and fry up in a little bit of oil. You can also spray them with cooking spray after breading them and bake them. They are good with cocktail sauce or Tarter sauce. You can also find lots of place on the internet that carry these products. These are our favorite product manufacturers by a long shot. As with everything, taste buds vary from person to person. Don't give up because one product doesn't taste good to you. Our whole family enjoys all these products but like in the hot dogs, one of my girls has a preference for the Big Franks and Linketts, while the rest of us prefer the Vega-link, but we like them all. Have a great day. Judy n/a <lowmerc1 wrote: Hi all! Just stumbled on this group, it's great! Guest guest
It isn't on their website, but if you call the store, they can give you the price for it over the phone or you can pop into one of the stores. They will also ship it to you. Judy - Judith Herman Saturday, October 21, 2006 11:36 AM Re: New Member needs your fav. recipes and help locating products I was buying mine from The Farm in Tennessee.
