Guest guest
Hi:) I'm recently made usre all of my beauty products are animal- friendly, but I'm stuck on deodorant. Any suggestions on something fairly mainstream, easy to find, and that WORKS???? Thanks in advance L
Guest guest
I like Avon's deodorants very much and from the research I have done they do no animal testing. Guest guest
if you are in search of a natural " deodorant " and not an " antiperspirant " : Either pure alcohol, or white vinegar. Plain and simple. I have used this for maybe ten years now with wonderful results. I even notice that I do perspire much less than I used to. But don't expect it to be as dry as a commercial antiperspirant. Guest guest
I don't know what the deal is, being a vegetarian I don't seem to need deoderant anymore. Maybe I just think I don't.....LOL No, really I used it all the time before and now I never need it. If it's extremely hot weather I might dust with some cornstarch and a little baking soda mixed. That's it. My Mom is the same way and she's been a vegetarian all her life, she's never used deoderant, but my sister is almost vegan, she has to use deoderant, the crystal rock thingy works for her. Guest guest
I use one of those crystals. It works great. I checked with our staff scientest, and he told me it's the active ingredient that they use in commercial deodorants, just without all the extra junk. You get out of the shower, wet it, and apply. Now they come in nice packages and are easy to find at the pharmacyy (normally on the bottom shelf) Mike
Guest guest
To my recollection, those crystal deodorants are made of natural mineral salts. I never realized that commercial deodorants had " natural " anything. lol. At any rate, they do make me itch. But come to think of it, so did the commercial ones! Guest guest
I have used the same crystal rock (Leaf's natural crystal) for over four years and it is still not half used. I think it has been a bargain. All one does is dampen the stick and rub it on (I dry mine off if it is very wet with a small piece of tissue). For my husband I buy Nature's Gate (order from Vitacost), which is free from aluminum and comes in seasonal scents (fall, spring, summer, winter (no scent). Guest guest
Yeup! Avon does not test on animals (one thing I actually checked b/4 I started selling w/ them) -- you can check the ingredients of their deodorants on their website: http://www.avon.com , click on the product you want and click on ingredients (most of their products have that option). You can put in your zipcode to find a rep in your area, and they'll deliver it to you (and always choose to shop w/ a rep - if you shop their main site, you do not always get access to the specials they offer each campaign) --Stacee , " Momma " <southernbelle wrote: > > I like Avon's deodorants very much and from the research I have done they do > no animal testing. > > Aubrey > > >
Guest guest
Tom's is the only one my DH can use that doesn't irritate him. Trader Joes & Meijer have it, I think Kroger, Buschs and probably Hillers do also. You can also get it through Frontier.com. AmyF
Guest guest
I use Tom's. I can find it in the regular grocery store. It is a deodorant only, not antiperpirant. You'll still sweat. I used to react to commercial brands. This helps. Debbie
Guest guest
that's the one....sorry. I should have checked my link first. Amy
Guest guest
I use Tom's also. I used to use more commercial brands - anti-perspirants and they bothered me, rashes and itching and such. I've had no such problems with Tom's. I get it at Whole Foods. Gary --- akfral wrote: > Tom's is the only one my DH can use that doesn't > irritate him. Guest guest
no problem! I knew of them, because I used to be a co-op member, when I had an online shop years ago. Great products.
