Guest guest
My heart breaking here for you, that such cruel memories are what stands out for you with your Grandpa. Those where fear is invovlved are most vividly remembered aren't they. One of my grandpa's had died when my dad was only 16, from cancer and the other one was so cruel to my mom and her siblings growning up, that I wanted no part of of him. He scared me. I'm so thankful that my children had wonderful grandparents to make special memories with and ones that cherished them. I'm sure memories of picking and gathering fruits(picking oranges, grapefruit and Japanese persimmons) and veggie are things they have done many times with my parents. They also taught them to drive a golf cart and so many things. Eating healthy, deliciously prepared Vegetarian foods is also part of being with them. Going for nice walks and popping into an ice cream shop for a cone, by my hubby folks, My husband's folks really knew how to throw a great party and make the holidays special. Both of our parents enjoyed travel and seeing things. What a great world is opened up when you take the time to travel and experience so much than just where one lives. He would chase me with a branch because I popped his mouse-traps closed in the pet shop and I wouldn't eat the sticky lutefisk he soaked on the porch in lye for 2 weeks.....hahahha Donna --- wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > What a nice memory of your Grandpa. Guest guest
Oh no, he was a great old Swede from the old country. I loved him, I was a terror as a kid, he couldn't run as fast as I could and by the time he spanked me for one thing I had done 4 more...LOL Donna --- wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > My heart breaking here for you, that such cruel > memories are what stands out for you with your > Grandpa.
