maple sometimes not vegetarian; was: Question of the Week

Sometimes lard is used. Sadly, the quantity used is small enough that it

need not legally be disclosed on the lable--- so you would need to contact

the manufacturer. Seems it is less common now, than before- so this is a

good thing!

I just noticed more on that first link, under " maple syrup " :

 

Holsum, Spring Tree and Maple Groves do not use animal-derived products to

process their maple syrup.
