Guest guest
My Dad is aiabetic and it's more or less up to the individual using Splenda. It's been good for him in moderation. Helps his sweet craving, I know if he didn't use a little Splenda then he's be in bags of candy that would be way worse. Guest guest
As a diabetic, luckily for me I do not crave sugar nor eat desserts so artificial sweeteners are generally not an issue for me. (I ocassionally have a SF hot chocolate or something, but I stick to fresh fruit to satisfy my sweet cravings.) I did not read the article you forwarded as I did not want to sign up for whatever that link required to view the article, however I will agree that Splenda, like all artificial sweeteners, is not generally the best thing you could put in one's body. <shrugs shoulders> I don't miss it at all, and if you can live without it, all the better. I wouldn't recommend using any articial sweetener unless it is a health issue such as diabetes. That said, many diabetics like my father and brother don't have the willpower to resist desserts and sweets, so I bake SF pies, cakes and cheesecakes for them on a regular basis to keep them from splurging. I love them and want them around for a while, so I am grateful that there is an alternative like Splenda to help them.
