Guest guest
Just put me in the kitchen and I will create something delicious with or without a cookbook, give me rags and wax and the car will shine like glass but I faint at the sight of a sewing machine, that class freaked me out and I think it aged me 5 years with worry I just couldn't get it, I think I have threadphobia. Guest guest
Donna are we twins? I can cook anything, clean anything, but when I took my sewing class, my teacher wanted to toss me out on my ear, I was breaking sewing machine needles nearly daily (and this was just by threading them!) my mother had to end up doing my sewing projects! Guest guest
lol come make my vehicles shine like glass..... now that is work...... Threadphobia. That is funny. Don't worry. When I look at a pattern now, since I don't sew as much as I used to, I have to really sit down and think about it more. Guest guest
Just a tad to remember of 6th grade in Brookline, Mass. It was 1946, I think. I had been to 3 schools already that year because of the end of WW II and this was my 4th. One had to make a pair of bloomers(undies actually) out of cotton...almost polished cotton it was so very stiff. Everyone but me had learned something about sewing in the year before. I just managed to survive that year, learn my mult. tables extremely well, learned long division, and was almost able to translate the other students' pronounciations. Our teacher was probably 65 or 70 and as big as a barn door with no patience! And, here came this child from some school in Biloxi, Mississippi, another in Madison, Georgia, another in Moultrie, Georgia and this was the end. I have no idea what happened to my undies but I certainly never wore them. As far as I remember she didn't have a name! Luanne
