Guest guest
I've noticed that since I've stopped eating meat that I have more energy! I never thought this would be a " side effect " of becoming a veggie, but it has. Anyone else have the same experience? Do I feel better because the harmful chemicals in meat are out of my body? Just an observation, Melissa in OR
Guest guest
Hello, I wouldn't go as far as saying I have more energy but I do certainly feel great. I am strong and feel healthy. This is no small feat, as I am recovering from breast cancer treatment. Some of you may remember from my intro that I became a vegetarian a couple of months ago as part of my " New Normal " life after cancer. So far, so good... Guest guest
You bet I do and for me that's not a good thing, I almost never sleep and I have boundless energy. Guest guest
So nice to hear! I was overweight before I became a vegetarian, then I switched and all of a sudden I had the energy to exercise, which of course got the weight off very quickly. My skin became nearly perfect, and all sorts of good things happened! Meat is poison to the body, so once you get it out of your system you will function better all around. Guest guest
Kadee, this is very encouraging to read! What kind of exercise did you do? Are you still exercising? I would love to lose somewhere between 5 and 10 pounds but do not know where to start, the scale seems to be stuck at 141lbs. I do not exercise but hope to find the encouragement... Guest guest
I hate to exercise too. I have spinal degeneration, and most exercise just abuses my body. But we have a local rec center with an indoor pool, and I found this to be a relaxing, and refreshing, way to get exercise, and it isn't so hard on my body; low impact but great workout on all muscle groups. Maybe you have a local rec center or YMCA/YWCA with an indoor pool? I am one who over the last 20+ years " falls off the [vege] wagon " from time to time. On one of my returns to veganism two years ago, I went from almost 200 lbs, down to 125 in 6 months (I am only 5' 2 " ). Unfortunately, my new size opened up doors for me to feel better about socializing, and I ended up after a few months going back off the wagon, because it is so difficult around here to get a vegan meal out. I gained back up to about 150. Went back to (mostly) vegan, and am now at 135. I can't say I have more energy (health issues keep me drained most days) but I do feel less " heavy " inside-- not a weight thing, but more like my insides feel alive. Maybe that *is* energy that just cant get out!! lol. Thia On 11/14/06, Izaskun Fuentes Milani <Izaskun wrote: > > Kadee, this is very encouraging to read! Guest guest
Exercise these days is just keeping up with my kids! I was only 12, almost 13, when I became a vegetarian and I had P.E. class each day... Before switching over I just walked around the track, sat around and did nothing whenever I could get by with it, then after switching I had the energy to run, and I even wanted to play basketball or whatever, just because I had the energy. These days even walking around the block is nice, especially if I've got my lunatic dogs with me (then of course it is a combination run/tugowar). Any exercise is helpful, even down to doing a few crunches a couple of times a day, push-ups before a meal, and small things like that. When weighing, I have a little trick- subtract ten pounds for boobs, and since it's winter I do wear lots of extra clothes. I say maybe, oh, about 30 pounds of pajamas. Leaves me at a slim 100, which is perfect. Kadee Sedtal " I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people. " -Jack Handey Cheap Talk?
