Guest guest
What I will probably do since my husband is so wierd about my cooking.. I will probably not tell him that I used a different spice until after he has tried the recipe.. My neighbor said I might even be able to get it for an even better price at an amish country store near jeff city Mo where I went through today but I never seen a sign for any country store so I didnt even check.. But since you say thats a good price I will just get it from where I got it.. How much are the Pods where you are.. They were what I thought was pretty high here.. More than 7 dollars but I didnt look at the exact price.. Guest guest
Diane sent me a bag of pods, I have some in a bag (not many) and I don't know what I paid, the pods aren't as expensive as the group since you have to remove the outer shell and grind the pods. Guest guest
Cardamom is in a league of it's own. It tastes and smells like nothing else. Sometimes a recipe will say to sub it with nutmeg, I certainly do see a relationship between the two. I added it to the pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and the guests raved, they kept saying, this is the best tasting pumpkin pie I've even eaten. I think it's my magical spice I tossed in there. I want to make cardamom perfume. I love it so much! Donna --- jenntinysam <jlbart1974 wrote: > LOL yeah I am enjoying it.. Guest guest
There were no pies this THANKSGIVING (((((( so therefore we didnt get to test the spice in pie.. My Thanksgiving was a flop. Homemade bread (my mothers version) was the only bread there.. All beit was good but I like the sweet bread.. It is a very good spice and I thank you very very very much for turning me on to it.. I will tell you that it doesnt work for French toast lol because it sinks quicker than Cinnnamon which stays at the top. Guest guest
Donna You can try these. Just soak whole cardamon in water. Use pods or powder and infuse in oil. Use pods or powder and put in water. Boil it down half way. Then put three times as much oil as water and simmer until oil is ALL gone. You can tell when water is gone by putting a few dropsin. If it is gone it will crackle. GB , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > Cardamom is in a league of it's own. It tastes and > smells like nothing else.
