Guest guest
I home-schooled both of my kids. I had problems with teachers and the whole school system here. My son was going into second grade and my daughter was in 6th when I took them out. My daughter is now 23 and my son is 17. It was and still is a lot of work, but I think it was worth it. I have a lot of links to some websites I could send you off list if you want them. I also have bought a lot of books off of Ebay. You can get some great workbooks and things at a reasonable price there. Guest guest
I do not know where to get homeschooling computer stuff, but I wanted to lend you support at least. I homeschooled my two until they went to college. One never went to public school and the other went part-time for a few years before deciding it was too much hassle for the benefit she was getting from it. They are now 27 and 25 years old (how did THAT happen?) and seem to be productive, relatively happy human beings. It started as an experiment and worked well enough that we kept on doing it. :-) We were eclectic homeschoolers, taking what we saw as the good bits from a variety of sources and becoming very good friends with local librarians and interlibrary loan people. I wish you luck in finding what works for your family and your situation. -ginger north of Boston , " jenntinysam " <jlbart1974 wrote: > > Do you know where to find Used homeschooling computer stuff thats > still good for halfway cheap > > I am seriously thinking about taking Tiny out and doing that.. Guest guest
My oldest two children are homeschooled and have been for going on six years now. My biggest suggestion to you is to check out what resources are available in your area for homeschoolers. Are there adequate and appropriate support groups? Does your local community college offer classes for kids? Are there art programs to participate in, etc? One of the main reasons we moved from Texas to Eugene, OR was for the community programs available for kids and adults alike. Guest guest
WI has a homeschool program that provides computers, internet and a printer. It's something through the state. Have you talked with your states education department? Christene
