You might want to ask your local grocer. I know here in the Tacoma Washington

area, most of the local Safeway stores will special order some for you.

They are just unripe red tomatoes. See if your grocery store has some in the

back that just aren't ripe yet, so they haven't put them out. Also most produce

stands buy them green so they don't spoil so quickly and put them out when they

turn red. Ask them if they have some, that aren't out.

They are so good breaded with some Italian Bread crumbs mixed with seasoned

salt, Ms. Dash and some Cornmeal Mix.

Yummmmmmmmm. Try them, I bet you'll love them.

Oh some of our favorite spring veggies are the lettuces, spring onions, and

herbs like cilantro and parsley that love the cooler temps, rather than our

very hot summers....... Oh but the tomatoes LOVE the hot weather and ripen

fast with it, so that is good from every season.

Here is the question of the week. :)

What is your favorite veggie of the Spring season?

Is there a special dish that uses this vegetable that

you'd like to share?

My favorite spring veggies are lettuce, peas and garlic scapes. I

to a CSA farm and never had scapes until they started

including them in our boxes. They are crunchy, lightly garlic flavored

and really, really yummy!
