Guest guest
does anyone have a good, natural suggestion for dealing with insomnia. I just don't function well with 3 hours sleep. I'm doing the usual, warm bath, hot (decaf) tea, reading but nothing is helping at the moment. I usually only have insomnia in the summer but we've had a unusual period of bright sun (I love the break from the rain) so just can't sleep. Thanks Sam

I usually get back to sleep in about 5-20 minutes after doing this. Best thing is it's drug free and no hangover in the morning! Guest guest
valerian always helped me. nature's way valerian nightime is wonderful. it contains valerian and lemon balm and are in tablet form. some other products that contain combos of valerian, hops, or passion flower would be good too. my hubby has insomnia and he swears valerian doesn't help him. his chiropractor recommended l-theanine. i got my hubby some, but the stubborn ass hasn't taken it yet. those are my recommendations for you. good luck! susie --- Samantha Lea <saml wrote: > does anyone have a good, natural suggestion for > dealing with insomnia. Guest guest
One way to gain back sleep time is by raising your seratonin levels, naturally. I came across this via my holistic chiropractor - increasing the consumption of tryptophan.. you know, the calming feeling after a plate load of turkey on Thanksgiving?! Tryptophan naturally raises the seratonin levels, and its also great in case you happen to be a little extra hyper or anxious. Goes by L-5 Hydroxy Tryptophan. The brand I buy is Solaray, at your better health foods store. We need our sleep! The bod doesn't recharge or heal without adequate sleep time. Good luck and good night VM
Guest guest
What does the doctor suggest? I'd be interested. Joanie
Guest guest
Hi Sam. I take valerian sometimes, but recently I was told by a friend at work to try melatonin, and I have been having good success with that. I take two 3mg tablets about one hour before bedtime. I also go to bed, read or do needlework [any restful relaxing activity] prior to going to sleep. It really seems to help me wind down, and the melatonin gives me cool dreams. Hope you find some rest.
