Guest guest
Hi folks, I wrote about my problem with the soy products. When this happened it was very disappointing, because it had been so easy to pop a veggie patty or a veggie " chicken " patty into the microwave for a quick lunch. Anyone have any suggestions on sources of protein that are quick and easy and filling? Now, I never would ask this question to a meat-eater because they would tell me, " See, you just need to stop being a vegetarian. " I have people telling this to me constantly because I am diabetic - including my doctor - and they act like this would be some kind of casual decision I would make: like changing toothpaste. I love animals and I have been a vegetarian since 1986 and will remain one forever. It is nice to be able to write this to a group of people who I know will understand. Oh i hear ya, if a vegetarian gets ill for any reason then the meat eaters will/may blame our eating habits. This conversation is going on one of the message boards I frequent on AOL. Guest guest
Hi. I have been diabetic for 15 years and I was just recently diagnosed with the first stages of Chronic Kidney disease. The CKD was brought on by my pregnancy (first and unfortunately has to be my last). With the long standing diabetes, the pregnancy was just too much strain. My first doc wanted a biopsy and all kinds of stuff without giving me any info, so I found a new doc. He told me the IDEAL diet for me would be a vegetarian diet, no problem, been on and off veg for a few years now. Did more research, came across this site with research about diabetes and a low fat vegan diet...there are some remarkable results in the study. Hehe, you can show it to your doc. Anyway, I am going to go total VEGAN on April 1st as a result of this info. Heres the link, hope the info helps. http://www.pcrm.org/magazine/gm06autumn/diabetes.html Stephanie , " jimchristianhall " <jimchristianhall wrote: > > Hi folks, > > I wrote about my problem with the soy products.
