Guest guest
You could use an olive tapanade. Joanie
Guest guest
This recipe looks excellent...does anyone have any ideas to replace the anchovy paste? Maybe it's fine to just delete it, but I'm curious. Guest guest
Hello, I've heard of people substituting capers for anchovies and also saw this about using miso paste. " Actually another fine choice for anchovy substitution is capers (salty/briny flavor) or miso paste (similar texture and salty). " http://chocolateandzucchini.com/archives/2006/04/soupe_de_betterave_pate_danchoi\ s_aux_noix.php Haven't tried it myself although maybe the next time I make a vegi pizza I'll give it a try. (or try your caesar salad) Gary --- awerling wrote: > This recipe looks excellent...does anyone have any > ideas to replace the anchovy paste? Guest guest
Also found this: " Umeboshi, a fermented plum paste used as a substitute for anchovies or fish paste. " " For a vegetarian substitute, use 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce or vegetarian Worcestershire sauce mixed with 1/2 teaspoon dried dulse sea vegetable flakes in place of each anchovy fillet. " =) awerling wrote: This recipe looks excellent...does anyone have any ideas to replace the anchovy paste? Maybe it's fine to just delete it, but I'm curious. Thanks for the rush of recipes.
Guest guest
Thanks for the recommendations regarding anchovy paste substitutions. I look forward to trying this recipe, though probably in a couple weeks. , awerling wrote: > > This recipe looks excellent...does anyone have any ideas to replace the anchovy paste?
