Homemade BBQ Sauce

 

Add to a small saucepan and saute until transparent:

3 TB butter

1 small onion, diced

1-2 cloves garlic, minced

 

Add and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes:

1 TB of prepared mustard

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. paprika

1 TB sugar

2 TB fresh lemon juice

1 TB Worchestishire sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup corn syrup

Dash of chili powder

 

Allow to cool and place in an airtight container and place in refrigerator.

This is great!

 

I'm not really a big fan of corn syrup though. Any thoughts on an

alternative ingredient?

One of my friends would use brown rice syrup

when a recipe called for corn syrup.

Maybe you could give that a try. :)

I don't post alot but wanted to say thank-you for posting this

recipe. It sounds really yummy and I didn't have a good homemade

bar-b-que recipe.

 

Also to the poster who asked about what to use this on, I would

think that it would be good on vegetarian baked beans or even some

tofu.
