Thanks for the responses and suggestions for broccoli slaw. I hadn't

thought of cooking it, but will give it a try. Also glad to hear that

it's enjoyed by some companion animals :)

Regards,

Karen

Broccoli Slaw

1 bag (16 oz.) bag broccoli slaw mix

1 cup raisins

1/2 cup slivered almonds

1 cup Ranch salad dressing

In a large bowl combine slaw mix, raisins and almonds.

Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss to coat.

Cover and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

Serves: 4.

Hi Christie,

I had a bag in the refrigerator so I pulled it out to let you know what is in

it. It contains shredded carrots, purple cabbage and peeled stalks from

broccoli.

I use it when I make Fri-chik Chop Suey.

PT. We do not get bags of slaw over here so please could you explain

what broccoli slaw comprises? Slaw here is a tub of grated cabbage and

carrot and perhaps onion in mayonnaise but I don't get the impression

that this is what you are talking about.

TIA

I love that stuff.  Of course I toss the package of imitation bacon bits, but I

make the whole package and willl eat it in one day.  Sometimes I am forced to

share it with my hubby, cause he likes it too.

I wish I knew how to make a dressing like that.  I can shred the brocolli stems

and carrots, and can get the seeds and nuts, but that dressing stumps me.

I don't buy the packages with the dressing included.

I just get the shredded veggies.

So what exactly is the dressing like in those kits?

Creamy?

It is creamy and sort of sweet and tangy.  Oh it makes me want some just

thinking about it.  It is a delisious way to get the vitimins and good thingies

in brocolli and carrots.  Actually the brocolli stems are better for you than

the floretts, but most people don't want to mess with pealing them, so most get

thrown out.
