I do however make yellow squash about twice a week for my lunch the same way she did...minus the bacon grease of course How do you cook that yellow squash? I assume you are refering to delicious summer squash. I just love that stuff and would enjoy your recipe. Guest guest
I just spent last week in FL visiting my 90 year old Mother and she made this in exactly the same way described. She had a large bag of small yellow squash and some sweet onions and fried it up in a big ole iron skillet and served it with pinto beans, cole slaw and homemade cornbread (not sweet) and it was a feast. I had not seen my Mother in 7 years so it was a feast in more ways than one. blg in pa (my first post). , " Stephanie " <stargazerlily72 wrote: > > Here ya go...I make this about twice a week...LOVE it! > Stephanie > > Southern Yellow Squah > > 6 - 8 yellow crookneck squash > 2 medium sized onions > salt and pepper > > Directions: > > * chop onion and squash > *brown onion (you can use olive oil or water) in large skillet that > has > a lid > *add squash > *season liberally with salt and pepper > *cover and cook on medium stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes > (until squash is *really* tender) > ********************************************************************* > > > , " ~ PT ~ " > patchouli_troll@ wrote: > > > > , Stephanie Scott > <stargazerlily72@> wrote: > > > > > 4) Luckily I got my cooking from my Grans, I think it skipped a > generation lol > > > my Grans is from Alabama so even the veggie dishes had pork > fat in them. > > > She taught me to make an excellent roast, chicken and > dumplings...which I don't > > make > > > anymore.
