Guest guest
Hello, my name is Darcy and I am new to this site. I have tried to be vegetarian once but I could not find enough support and I live in rural Alabama where most people around here view vegetarians and vegans as bad. Seven weeks ago while finding a love of yoga, I decided to forever give up meat. I have a wonderful husband who is omniverous (but cut back on his meat intake) and two sweet little girls one 5 and one 2 who can't even stand the site of vegetables, unfortunately. Even though my husband is incredibly supportive of me through this I would like to talk to others to help me go through this. I started becoming vegetarian which was not that hard for me considering I never really liked the taste of meat, but after finding out about the enzymes in cheese I am trying to wean myself into a vegan lifestyle. It seem like every food out there I can't eat anymore. Bread is going to be the killer for me. I think I loved the smell of bread more than the actual taste. If anyone could help me in my lifestyle change I would be forever grateful. I can't wait to hear from you guys. It might not be until Tuesday until I get back with anyone, for family time reasons. I returned to a vegetarian lifestyle back in January after many years; I was veggie back in the '80s. I'll introduce myself further in a separate post. I think I might be able to help you with bread issue. If you need a bread that's whole wheat and has no high fructose corn syrup as well as having no animal ingredients, try Mrs. Baird's Sugar Free Whole Wheat bread. I'm in Texas so I hope it's available all through the South so you can find it in Alabama. If you're looking for white bread, you might look for a sugar free version of it. Whole wheat bread is so much more tastier and better for you, imho. Alternatively, if you can make your own bread, here's a great bread recipe that my DH makes for us all the time. He likes to do it so I've let that be his chore! http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=5707 One bit of advice I can offer you is transition, it's noble to change overnight to a vegetarian but it's also damn hard! Good luck!

There are a lot of helpful people here, and I look forward to reading your posts. ~ PT ~ Unless we think of others and do something for them, we miss one of the greatest sources of happiness. ~ Ray Lyman Wilbur ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Darcy " <gillibean02 wrote: > > Hello, my name is Darcy and I am new to this site.
