Savory Lentils (rice cooker recipe) 2 tbls. oilve or veg oil 1 tsp. cumin 1/2 tsp curry powder (optiona;) 1 cup brown or green lentils, rinsed 3 1/2 cups water 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes with juice 2 tbls dried onion (I used 1/3 raw onion chopped) 1 tbl dried vegetable flakes 2 tbls dried parsley (I used dried Mexican terragon and dried lemon balm) salt & pepper to taste when done Heat oil in rice cooker and add cumin and curry powder. Stir and cook for 2 minutes to bring out the flavors. Add remaining ingredients, cover and cook until rice cooker shuts off. Midway through cooking carefullty open rice cooker watch for the steam, and stir the ingredients. When done, allow lentils to stay in cooker and steam for 10 minutes before serving. Well, Ive got to run to keep from hiding, And I'm bound to keep on riding. And I've got one more silver dollar, But Im not gonna let them catch me, no, Not gonna let em catch the midnight rider.
