Guest guest
Yeah, I don't know anything about Rachel Ray's actual stuffing recipe, and I plan to use my own that I posted a few days ago. But I sure like this idea for a baking method. I want to try that. Some friends of mine have always made their holiday stuffing into large ball shapes and baked them on a pan; I guess that would give the same effect... more crispy-crunchy to enjoy. Guest guest
I use my own stuffing recipe, not her's, but I just was sharing that you could use your favorite recipe in a muffin tin to get the crispy individual servings. PT's idea of using a ice cream scoop and baking it in balls on a baking sheet would also work. The muffin shapes are pretty though. Guest guest
Judy, do you have your recipe for jalapeno-prosage dressing? I might want to jazz mine up with some spice. I have used soyrizzo in it before, and that was good. Jalaps or green chilies is a great idea. My friends that make the stuffing balls... not sure if they ever used an ice cream scoop or not, but that is a less messy idea for sure! *lol* I plan to use the muffin tins myself. I love that idea. But these pals had another great idea, too. They make a pumpkin gravy! I am not certain of the recipe, because his wife never writes them down, but I think she just makes a nice veggie gravy [not too thick] and then uses pureed pumpkin stirred in to thicken and add flavor. Now doesn't that sound good? ~ PT ~ Give me the end of the year an' its fun When most of the plannin' an' toilin' is done; Bring all the wanderers home to the nest, Let me sit down with the ones I love best, Hear the old voices still ringin' with song, See the old faces unblemished by wrong, See the old table with all of its chairs An' I'll put soul in my Thanksgivin' prayers. ~ Edgar A. Guest guest
I don't know why I never thought of that! My son-in-law does not like stuffing in any way, shape or form, and I don't know, it just doesn't seem right once it's been in a big pan and you put it in some plastic to store it for left overs, you know? Maybe making it in muffin shape would be better, plus my granddaughter could definitely handle it a lot easier. I'll have to convince my daughter though... since we're doing Thanksgiving @ her house. Guest guest
Pumpkin gravy. Sounds good. I hope she will write it down for you, so you can share it with us. - ~ PT ~ Saturday, November 17, 2007 11:28 AM Re: Stuffin-muffins! was: Holiday Potluck Ideas?
