Guest guest
Amy, I would greatly appreciate your sending me the recipes too. I bought a slow cooker last fall and have not used it much. Your recipe collection will help change that! A large part of my problem is trying to figure out how to work it into my schedule. How long, on an average, does it take you to assemble the ingredients and place them in the cooker? Do you have any advice to share in this regard? Thank you so much for your generous offer! Best regards, Elyse austinvegan <austinvegan wrote: Hi Madeline, I just bought a slow cooker last month (chrome Rival 4-quart, on sale at Target for $20) and I have used it a ton so far. I don't have a slow cooker cookbook, but I have found many recipes online just by Googling " vegan " and " crockpot. " I also joined a vegetarian crockpot cookery group on (HVCC) and have gotten some good recipes that way. I have many of these crockpot recipes saved in Microsoft Word format, and if you want me to email them to you, let me know off list and I'd be happy to do so. (That goes for anyone else who might want them too.) Guest guest
Elyse, When I use my crockpot, I do all the preparations the night before. If there is a lot of chopping to do, it may take up to fifteen minutes. Then in the morning I put everything in my pot and turn it on. Less than five minutes. If I am making something in the crockpot that has some of the same ingredients as my supper from that night, I just chop extra, and save them for the morning. It is really easy, the hard part is thinking about your meal in advance. I make soup and beans in my crockpot all the time. It is really easy. For beans you just soak them overnight, as you would to cook them, and chop up whatever you want to put in them that night, and throw it all in the pot in the morning with fresh water. For soup, I just get all my veggies together, cut them up, again the night before, and put them in the pot in the morning with water and boullon. Simple as pie. Guest guest
Christie- I love chestnuts too! Usually we get them dehydrated at the Italian grocer. I'd love to find some frozen. I think the best part of collecting recipes (other than eating the finished product of course!), is being able to share them with other foodies. And this is a great bunch of foodies. Have wonderfully happy healthy and peaceful holiday. Chupa " christie_0131 " wrote: crockpot recipes that > you have shared with us
Guest guest
Hello all! I received a slow cooker for Christmas and can't wait to put it to work. I have found lots of delicious recipes in the files but I was just wondering what is everyone's favorite " dump it in the crock pot and go " recipe? Thanks!
