Guest guest
Hi everyone! My name is Linda. I just joined the group. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Transplanted from Texas in 1986. ID: LindaJ012805 - is the date I quit smoking. I have been a vegetarian for a year and feel great. I'm taking a vegetarian cuisine class at the local community college and am loving it. My main hobby right now is swimming. I swim around 6-8 miles a week. Yeah, a little obsessive. I saw a roadrunner the other day on my front porch and he had to be at least 20 " tall. That's a big bird. Looking forward to sharing recipes with all of you. Linda - ~ PT ~ Sunday, March 02, 2008 10:26 AM ~* March 2008 Roll Call *~ It has been a few months since we have had a group roll call, so I thought it was time as we have had many new members join us recently. Please take a moment to share a bit about yourself with everyone here by participating in this roll call. If you choose not to join in it is okay, but you will have more fun if you do! 1. What is your name? [ username or real name or both, your choice] 2. Where do you live now? Is it the same as where you are originally from? If different how so? [share only what you are comfortable with] And just for extra fun: 3. When was the last time you saw a wild animal and what was it?
Guest guest
Great idea! I'm Jeanne, currently living in Georgia in the USA, not the Georgia which was part of the old, defunct USSR. I was born in Washington, DC and was transplanted down here about 30 years ago. I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 20 plus years. The last wild animal I saw was last evening at dusk and it was a coyote (yes, even here in Georgia). Jeanne in GA LindaJ2000 wrote: Hi everyone! My name is Linda. I just joined the group. Guest guest
Hi, My name is Jillian and I live in Houston. I'm originally from a tiny town in PA and have been living here for the last two years as a displaced Texan, soon to return home! I don't think there are any vegans or raw foodists in this town. Makes shopping challenging, but also gives me a reason to drive to Pittsburgh which is always much enjoyed!! We live in the boonies on a mountain top and have lots of wild critters. Two of the weirdest beings we've seen were a blue crane which flew over the deck one evening and a white skunk that use to come every evening and eat the cat food we left out for a feral cat. \Jillian\ **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Guest guest
They just finished Coyote season here in PA. Can you believe it? They call it shooting dogs. What a mentality they have here.. \Jillian\ The last wild animal I saw was last evening at dusk and it was a coyote (yes, even here in Georgia). **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Guest guest
I'm a little confused by your post. You say you live in Houston but then you say you've been living " as a displaced Texan " for two years and you drive to Pittsburg. If you're temporarily in PA and about to move to Houston, you might check out the Houston Vegetarian Society. Guest guest
Once a Texan, always a Texan, I say. I'm not really sure how we ended up back in PA, but two years ago we did! No plans to stay here. We have gypsy blood, I think, and will be most glad to see that grand Lone Star State again!! Jillian I'm a little confused by your post. I've been a Veggie since I was ten! 2)I live in Bradley Beach, NJ but I'm from Memphis, TN (lived there for 14 years, thus the " ya'll " ) 3) Do squirrels count? I say a squirrel hunting around in a garbage can in NYC yesterday... if that doesn't count I say a family of dear grazing in a yard a few weeks ago! What a sight!
