QOTW: St. Patrick's Day dinner ideas?

Time for our new batch of questions of the week.

These are just for fun and sharing so please post

a reply if you want to and have time; the more

people that share the more fun we have.

QOTW for March 16th-22nd, 2008:

1. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in any way?

[cook an Irish meal, wearing'o'th'green, watching the

parade on TV, going to a pub, etc]

2. What are some vegetarian " Irish-style " dishes you enjoy?

We don't celebrate it, except usually wear something with green in it

2. What are some vegetarian " Irish-style " dishes you enjoy?

Usually make some mashed potatoes with a drop of green food coloring mixed

into it.

Yes we celebrate every year. A big cabbage potato carrot boiled

dinner with lots of mustard and horseradish, soda bread, beer,

and watch the parade. I but lots of cabbage when its on sale and make

my favorite fried cabbage and mushrooms from the leftover cabbage. It

freezes well to. Happy St Pattys Day. Donna

do you have a recipe for the fried cabbage & mushrooms? Sounds great.

We usually watch the parades on TV, but this year

I was at work, wearing green, not going to a pub,

but having a Happy Paddy's Day just the same.

Yum. I love horseradish, spicy mustards, and I also

like to sprinkle some malt vinegar on the veggies.

I bought extra cabbage on sale too and love to quick

fry it with leeks and mushrooms and then stir it into

some noodles with butter. Mmmmm
